How to fix cross linked files
SYMPTOMS When ever you clicked on a folder and cannot access the folder contents a windows dialog box appears saying the folder may be corrupt. CAUSE
Resolution First we need to confirm the corruption, easiest way to do so is to use the windows scan disk utility, if there are file system corruption this utility typically fixes the problem. To run the utility simply go to: "My Computer" --> Right Mouse on "local disk (c:) or the drive with the problem --> Click Properties --> Click tools --> Click on the "Check Now" Button --> Check all the boxes and click Start. The system may ask you to reboot... do so. typically this will find bad sectors and marked them so that they will no longer be used and fixed the crosslinked files.
